5 ideas for a weekend on the Côte d’Azur

From Saint-Tropez to Nice, by way of Cannes, the Côte d’Azur is undeniably a region where life is great to live. Between its turquoise waters and trails, this region, prized for its holidays, is packed with surprises: mountain hikes, walks along the coastline, deep sea diving, etc.  And we invite you to take a break in this world between land and sea, during a weekend on the Côte d’Azur.

With your bags packed, and not forgetting your swimming costume and walking shoes, let yourself be carried away by the breeze. Ready?

1 – Stroll through Antibes for a weekend

Take your time and stroll through the narrow streets, look up to contemplate the architecture, and glimpse the sea beyond the ramparts; if there were a mantra for Antibes, this would be it! This town in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur is perfect for a weekend spent lazing around and exploring! Walk along the Cap, take a detour via the Pinède park and have the famous Pissaladière for lunch! The spa resort also houses the Picasso Museum, which exhibits many works by the artist, including 78 ceramics created in the Madoura de Vallauris workshop (a town close to Antibes).

A gentle weekend in which contemplation gradually gives way to relaxation.

2 – Enjoy a weekend in Cannes

Aah, La Croisette, its red carpet and its stars…

But what does the beautiful town of Cannes look like behind the scenes outside of the festival? It’s finally time to raise the curtain! During a weekend on the Côte d’Azur, visit the Le Suquet district, the historic town centre and the Cannes fishing district. This famous district is the home of old houses and the Notre-Dame-de-l’Espérance [Our Lady of Hope] church that dates from the 14th century! During this walk, take the opportunity to taste the famous pistou soup, or snack on a Tropézienne – that’s the tart, not the sandals – high up at the Château de la Castre.

3 – Amble around Nice for a weekend

Do you need to speak English to walk along the Promenade des Anglais?

Absolutely… not!

The walk is styled for the English, simply because of the many Brits who came to Nice in winter to escape the London rain. Beyond this cultural point, the town of Nice is a wonderful destination for soaking up the Provencal atmosphere during a weekend on the Côte d’Azur. The colourful houses and paved alleyways in its historic centre are sure to be a change of scene.

4 – Do you, do you Saint-Tropez?

A deckchair and a cocktail: right there is a great programme for a weekend on the Côte d’Azur.

There’s no need to be a celebrity or a gendarme to enjoy the upscale town of Saint-Tropez. During your getaway, enjoy a sunbathe on its most famous beach: Pampelonne. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, Saint-Tropez is full of coves where you can top up your vitamin D. For food lovers (and early risers!), stroll through the aisles of the fish market, and fill your basket with the freshly caught ingredients to make the famous Bouillabaisse for lunch.

A picture postcard backdrop awaits you during your two days in Saint-Raphaël.

Between the rocks of the Estérel, the green of the forests and the blue of the Mediterranean, this Côte d’Azur town is the perfect setting in which to get a breath of fresh air over a weekend.

A true haven of peace, dive into the city of the sealions… Literally.

One of the most beautiful diving sites can be found here. Grab your masks, get set, and snorkel!

What accommodation is best for a weekend on the Côte d’Azur?

For restful nights during your short stay on the Côte d’Azur, your only difficulty is making a choice: hotels, guest houses, holiday lets, holiday camps and unusual accommodation.

Find your cosy bed here for your stay on the Côte d’Azur!

For the more adventurous, try a night in a tepee or a treehouse, to be woken by the rising sun and birdsong. The guarantee of a weekend cut off from the world!

Who could be better to recommend the most beautiful places to visit than the regions’ residents? Booking a night in a guest house is the guarantee of visiting the Côte d’Azur in a different way.

With your children, give preference to a holiday cottage with all the amenities, to cook your own version of the Pissaladière or Aioli, and enjoy the great getaway in your home away from home.
