DISCOVER GRASSE, WORLD PERFUMERY CAPITAL
Rose centifolia, jasmine, tuberose, lavender or orange blossom, perfumes are born first in Grasse’s plants!
If Grasse is the world capital of perfumery, it owes it to its tanners who, in the 16th century, aware of the strong smell of their leather, had the idea of perfuming them. Thus the area around the city was covered with roses and jasmine to feed the stills of the very first perfumers. Five centuries have passed and Grasse’s know-how has grown. It is now expert in the art of extracting the perfumes and aromas from natural raw materials and even manages to imitate them perfectly.
