At the Grande Braderie street market in Saint-Tropez, everyone is looking for a bargain. During four hectic days, prices melt like an ice cream on the sand of Pampelonne beach. Wanting to clear their stocks as winter approaches, the stores offer spectacular discounts on most of their products, including the summer « hits ». Fashion, shoes, leather goods, decoration, perfumes and cosmetics: nothing resists the tidal wave. Everyone finds something and some articles go for barely ten euros.

LA GRANDE BRADERIE, A POPULAR FESTIVAL!

Beyond its commercial aspects, the Grande Braderie in Saint-Tropez is above all a popular festival. Lots of people take the opportunity to stroll around the village, hang out on the harbour to admire the yachts, settle on Ponches beach to taste the famous tarte tropézienne invented in the 50s by Alexandre Micka, enjoy a cornet from Barbarac, the famous ice cream maker on the harbour, have lunch under the quiet arbours of La Ramade, and the Auberge des Maures or on the small terraces of G’envie or Ghandi, the most Indian of Saint-Tropez restaurants, or even visit a museum: the Annonciade and its beautiful collection of pointillist, Nabis and fauve works, the Musée de la Gendarmerie et du Cinéma, inhabited by the memory of Gerber, Cruchot and their brigade.
