2 – GO TO THE MARKET IN THE CENTRE OF SAINT-TROPEZ VILLAGE

Head off to the famous Place des Lices!

In the heart of old Saint-Tropez, beautiful Place des Lices is usually occupied by people playing boules except on Tuesdays and Saturdays, when it is transformed into a large colourful market. In the shade of plane trees, local flavours meet flowers, plants, clothes and other artisanal creations, such as the famous hats or straw baskets. 3- VISIT NOTRE-DAME DE L’ASSOMPTION

To see in Saint-Tropez, la Citadelle is a sacred place, with its moat, donjon, and counterscarps… which are home to the village’s museum of maritime history! Did you know that in the 18th century Saint-Tropez was the third largest French port in the Mediterranean? The Musée de la Citadelle invites you to discover the maritime history of Saint-Tropez and its sailors. 5 – TASTE (the real) TARTE TROPÉZIENNE

A legendary treat in Saint-Tropez – to taste and share without moderation!

Created in 1955, this speciality has become the flagship of Saint-Tropez gastronomy. For the record, during filming of « And God created Woman » Brigitte Bardot discovered this now renowned tart, and suggested to the pastry chef Alexandre Micka that it be named « La Tarte Tropézienne ». Based on cream, brioche and sprinkled with generous grains of sugar, the tart today has dozens of variations with fruit, but the real, authentic and simplest version is still a true delight! A must eat in Saint-Tropez!

6 – LAZE ON THE SAND OF RAMATUELLE

Beautiful sandy beaches just minutes from Saint-Tropez!

In the shape of a crescent moon, the famous Pampelonne beaches offer you a translucent water bordered by remarkably fine sand over nearly 7 kilometres. You can choose from a public or private beach! Then all you have to do is let yourself be lulled by the gentle rhythm of the waves while admiring the sumptuous yachts that anchor offshore. 7 – TOUR THE TOWERS!

To see: the towers in Saint-Tropez!

Four towers once encircled the bay of Saint-Tropez to protect the people living there: Tour du Portalet, Tour Vieille, Tour de Suffren, of which some ruins are still visible, and Tour Jarlier. Tour Vieille and Tour Portalet, dating from the 15th century, are the guardians of the bay of Saint-Tropez, watching over the sea entrances. Tour Jarlier, built a century later in Rue Jarlier, gives a medieval tone to the village’s historic centre.

8 – WATCH THE SAINT-TROPEZ BRAVADE

A centuries-old tradition, the Bravade is intrinsically linked to the history of Saint-Tropez.

Celebrated every year on 16, 17 and 18 May, the Bravade celebrates the loyalty of the people of Saint-Tropez to their patron saint. The inhabitants gather in particular in honour of soldiers and sailors of the time who fought and valiantly protected their city. This patronal festival celebrated in the purest tradition is among the events to see in Saint-Tropez. The participants put on their traditional uniforms and pick up their weapons to march under the peninsula’s colours. Starting from the Camarat lighthouse Gigaro beach, on the opposite side, or even Escalet between the two, the coastal path between Croix-Valmer and Ramatuelle will offer you magnificent possibilities for walking.
