Getaway: what is there to do for a day in Bormes les Mimosas?

The Var’s mimosa capital, the village of Bormes-Les-Mimosas houses the famous Fort de Brégançon, the State residence used as the official holiday home of the French President. Set off to discover the treasures of Bormes-les-Mimosas, a true Provencal village nestled between earth and sea.

A PROVENCAL AND AUTHENTIC VILLAGE

Often compared to a Provencal nativity scene, its old houses covered with pink tiles and its narrow flowery streets make Bormes-les-Mimosas a place full of charm. Listed as one of the most flower-bedecked villages in France, Bormes-les-Mimosas is also classified as one of the most beautiful sites of the Var department. The extent of its territory from the seaside to the land offers it this diversity between nature and culture.

Enjoy the panoramic view from the village over the plain, the Porquerolles islands and Levant island, during a guided tour of the narrow Medieval streets of Bormes-les-Mimosas. History lovers will be won over by the remarkable heritage of this exceptional village.

THE VAR’S MIMOSA CAPITAL

An emblem identical to that of Tanneron, the mimosa is an integral part of the heritage and identity of Bormes-les-Mimosas.

In a bouquet or in cooking, this winter flower hides multiple treasures. Tickle your tastebuds with the “mimosette” (a brioche bun with pastry cream decorated with mimosa seeds), mimosa-based sweets and pastries to fully enjoy the experience.

Impregnated by the mimosa’s particular fragrance, silky, powdery, floral, warm and hard to reproduce, the nurseries are open to visits and offer you the chance to discover the different varieties present in Côte d’Azur France.

In February, the yellow colours illuminate the seaside and narrow medieval streets. Watch this show during the annual Mimosa festival, where there is a Grand Procession and floats decorated entirely with flowers parade down the streets of Bormes-les-Mimosas.
