Focus on the Jazz à Juan festival

From July 8 to 18, 2024

Notice to music lovers! For 10 days, La Pinède in Juan-les-Pins lives to the rhythm of the diversity and programming offered by the Jazz à Juan festival, the best mix of all kinds! What better setting than the Pinède Gould for welcoming the biggest names in jazz?

THE BEST OF THE JAZZ WELCOMES YOU WITH OPEN ARMS!

Did you know? The Jazz à Juan Festival is the oldest jazz festival in Europe!

Created in 1960, more than a jazz festival, Jazz à Juan is a festival of African-American music and its derivatives that should be talked about. Although jazz is of course present, it is not in the majority.

Rock, soul, funk, pop, blues, song, and world music are also part of it! But the Jazz à Juan festival is also the « offs » with nearly 200 musicians who roam the streets of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins to the sound of their trumpets and saxophones.

JAMMIN’ SUMMER SESSION

📍 Jammin’summer session – La Petite Pinède
Angle rue Leonetti et bd Baudoin
🗓️ From 8 to 18 July 2024

Jazz fans will be able to enjoy free concerts of the highest quality and musical diversity. The venues for these performances are simple and free, allowing spectators to settle down on chairs provided in front of the stages, or to sit on a café terrace or in the Petite Pinède with their beach chair, blanket and picnic, while respecting the work of the musicians. The aim of the Jammin’Summer Sessions is to present carefully selected emerging European groups who show a strong desire to bring jazz to life, a music without barriers that has never ceased to evolve throughout its history. The concerts offer a wide variety of styles, from classical to electro.

Festival-goers are invited to be curious and discover these young artists who will surprise, delight and maybe even get them dancing. La Petite Pinède is on the corner of rue Leonetti and boulevard Baudoin in Juan-les-Pins, while the bandstand is on the Place Nationale in Antibes. The full concert programme will be available in June.

NEW ARTISTIC DIRECTION FOR JAZZ AT JUAN

The 60th edition of the ‘Jazz à Juan’ International Jazz Festival took place from 09 to 20 July 2021, with the programme once again masterfully orchestrated by Jean-René Palacio, the festival’s artistic director for the past ten years.

Following his death, the Office de Tourisme et des Congrès d’Antibes Juan-les-Pins, organiser of the event, launched a new consultation process to appoint a new artistic advisor for the festival.

At the end of this procedure, the tender committee decided in favour of the joint candidacy of Jean-Noël Ginibre, Reno Di Matteo and Pascal Pilorget.

Gilberto Gil, Diana Krall and Herbie Hancock will headline the last three nights of the 2022 edition of the Jazz à Juan festival. Three promising names to give the event a new lease of life.

Join us this year, from 8 to 18 July 2024, for a festival that retains, more than ever, the visceral instinct of its own legend, welcoming many of those who are, are and will continue to be its legend.
