The Nice Jazz Fest’: a legendary venue where jazz memories are made!

It was in February 1948, at the end of Carnival, that the City of Nice imagined the world’s first jazz festival. Louis Armstrong & The All Stars, Django Reinhardt, Yves Montant and other of the era’s most emblematic figures were brought together, for the very first time, in the Côte d’Azur capital: Nice. At the time, the event was split between the Opéra de Nice and the Casino municipal on Place Masséna(wherethe water mirror now stands), ending in style at theHôtel Negresco.
