Instagrammable spot 1: #ILoveNice of course!

A play of light and shadow. It has become a symbol and a must-have souvenir of Nice!

Living for almost 4 years in Rauba-Capeù, the giant hashtag #ILoveNice has become a symbol and a must for taking snaps in Nice. Choose where you want to take your Instagram photo! There’s #ILoveNice early in the morning, where the 3 colours – blue, white, and red – are particularly vivid and form the perfect picture with the sea and mountains in the background. And there’s #ILoveNice at the end of the day. « I like to photograph it at that time because there’s a perfect play of light and shadow for composing a picture that will create a unique memory of the city of Nice and the Côte d’Azur!”

Instagrammable spot 2: Direction la Colline du Château!

Nice is synonymous with the sea and its azure blue sky, but don’t forget the mountains less than an hour away!

In the series of not-to-be-missed instagrammable spots in Nice, you’ll fall in love with the famous Colline du Château and its unique contrast of the sea, the city of Nice and the mountains. For the best shots, go to the Colline du Château either from the sea front by taking the Quai des Etats-Unis steps, or for the less sporty the lift from rue des Ponchettes. You can also get there from Nice’s Old Town. When the first snows appear at the end of November, and the weather is still fine in Nice, the setting is magnificent! Another option is to go to Mont-Boron. You will then have the complete trio: azure sea, Nice and the snow-topped mountains. And that’s also what the Côte d’Azur is all about!

Instagrammable spot 3: Old Nice with its colourful buildings!

Old Nice: it’s a sightseeing, historical and culinary experience.

I love the morning light in Old Nice and the warm colours of the facades at the end of the day. For photographers, there’s a lovely play between the light and shadows at any time of the day. You can easily stroll through its narrow streets and go from shop to shop to discover all the charm and specialities of Nice. As you stroll along, you’ll discover the colours of Nice: yellow, red, orange… I recommend a visit to the new Place Saint-François and Palais Lascaris. Without of course forgetting the Cours Saleya with its famous flower market and Place Masséna.

Instagrammable spot 4: From Tour Saint-François.

A unique spot for admiring Nice from every angle! Photography enthusiasts shouldn’t forget their cameras or smartphones!

Situated in Old Nice, the Tour Saint-François was built in the 13th century. It is 42 meters high. After the Revolution, it dominated Nice and became a municipal clock tower. Recently opened to the public in 2019, you can visit it from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 5pm (admission fee). After climbing the 288 steps of the Tower (not suitable for those afraid of heights!), the spectacle is grandiose and offers a magnificent 360-degree panorama of Nice and the surrounding countryside.

Instagrammable spot 5: Promenade des Anglais!

You often see the Promenade des Anglais in bright sunshine… but seldom in the rain!

When it’s still raining or just afterwards, the Prom’ is adorned with all sorts of reflections and becomes even more beautiful. I’ve made it one of my specialities. I love puddles and reflections. It’s a place that sometimes offers a fantastic spectacle, especially just after a storm and when a rainbow appears over the sea. For photography enthusiasts, some puddles are left in good weather in front of the sculpture « Neuf lignes obliques » by Bernar Venet and near « La Chaise Bleue » by SAB… you’ll see Nice in a completely different light!
