Reconciling protecting of natural environments with a high visitor rate

The Alpes-Maritimes department boasts 19 natural parks on land and one protected marine park.

Its purpose is to preserve natural environments, fauna and flora.

The aim is to raise public awareness of protecting the environment and to offer visitors leisure and relaxation areas in an exceptional setting.

From Théoule-sur-Mer to Menton, via Vence and Nice, their landforms and biodiversity afford each site a specific character.

True havens of peace where leisure time is combined with protecting the countryside.

Discover nature in a different way

Free events for young and old allow for discovering the diversity of species and the agricultural and cultural traditions of the region.

Awareness-raising workshops will reveal the nature’s secrets through experiences, games and observations.

Guided tours lasting about two hours wind their way through the countryside with a single objective: awaken the senses.

Thanks to more technical and orchestrated activities, participants can increase their knowledge of specific themes, such as geology, water, mushrooms, insects or birds.

A shared moment allowing you to discover the richness of the ecosystems.

Top up on activities!

From walks in the heart of the Estérel park where the flamboyant red volcanic rocks dominate, to discovering birds in the Sinodon natural park, by way of potholing in the Grande Corniche park, the experience promises to be enthralling!

Welcome to the House of Nature

Located in the Grande Corniche natural park, the Maison de la nature (House of Nature) is one of those typically Mediterranean places characterized by abundant flora and fauna.

Its temporary exhibition hall hosts several themes relating to sustainable development, ecology and nature.

A second space invites you to discover the site’s geology.

These themes are tackled through fun, family games allowing for a better immersion in the mineral world.

The bravest can even explore a life-size reconstruction of a sinkhole, just like real potholers!
