"The park explorers": immersion in nature guaranteed!

If you love strolling in the countryside, whether alone, with family or with friends, you will soon be able to explore the departmental natural parks in a different way with the new “The Park Explorers” app offered by the Alpes-Maritimes Department.

“The Park Explorers”: a fun and educational game for everyone!

Thanks to “The Park Explorers” app, you will set off to discover emblematic species, meet the challenges put to you and complete activities to win collectible cards.

You can watch the surprising natural mysteries of the Côte d’Azur coastline and discover an extraordinary heritage in terms of nature, culture, geology and landscapes.

Vaugrenier Park is the first chapter of this adventure and will be followed as of 2022 by seven other parks. So prepare to pull up your sleeves, tighten your laces and visit the departmental natural parks to become a true explorer!

The fun “The Park Explorers” game is free of charge and available on smartphones (iOS and Android). Below are the direct links to download the app from the Google Play Store and from the Apple Store.

This app allows you to discover, in the field, 8 departmental natural parks and their heritage (natural, geological and historic). This educational and environmental digital experience offers a “popularized” and contextualized scientific background.

The 8 parks that will ultimately be listed in the game’s directory are as follows:

  • Vaugrenier: 23 October 2021.
  • Grande Corniche: beginning of 2022.
  • Esterel
  • Vinaigrier
  • Valmasque
  • Cros de Casté
  • Rives du Loup
  • Pointe de l’Aiguille.

Who is this app aimed at?

Are you in the Alpes-Maritimes near a departmental park? Do you like nature and hiking? Do you have a smartphone on which to download and use the app? Then this app is for you! NB: younger children aged 8 years and up using the app must be supervised by an adult in order to explain the scientific concepts and the gameplay for the activities.

The objectives of this game are to:

  • Raise awareness of protecting the environment
  • Acquire environmental knowledge in a fun way
  • Give users the desire to go to the Departmental Natural Parks
  • Promote the departmental natural spaces and their specific characteristics.

Become an explorer!

The Alpes-Maritimes Department is arranging an appointment for you on 23 October* at the Vaugrenier Departmental Natural Park to become one of the first explorers! From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Department teams will be on site to show you the game, which you can download and discover in complete autonomy. This day will also be the opportunity for you to take part in several free events: treasure hunts, walks (open to people of reduced mobility), and activities along the themes of the environment, and knowing and protecting our biodiversity. Guided walks to discover the app with nature coordinators will be offered:
