STREET ART: MASSOINS IN THE SPOTLIGHT!

Due to weather conditions, the festival originally scheduled for May 13 and 14 is postponed to May 27 and 28.

Perched on its rocky outcrop above the Var valley, Massoins is a charming little medieval village on the Côte d’Azur where street art will once again work its magic on 13 and 14 May.

MASSOINS, LAND OF URBAN INSPIRATION

Massoins, a historic village that has a unique charm and a peaceful atmosphere, is brimming with cultural and artistic treasures that attract numerous visitors every year. The village has kept its traditional character with its narrow stone streets and stone houses so typical of the region. Less than an hour from Nice, the walls of Massoins will once again become the scene of veritable spaces for free expression! In fact, after the success of the first edition, the Massoins[A1]  Street Art Festival creates a colourful rendezvous.

While art is first and foremost a shared intergenerational and intercultural connection, this middle country village needed nothing more to seize street art once again so young and old can discover this culture. With an already rich programme last year, this year’s edition promises wonderful new items from talented artists, supported by the association Place for Art.

THE NICE ASSOCIATION PLACE FOR ART: A COLLECTIVE OF ENTHUSIASTIC ARTISTS

Bringing together enthusiasts of the world of street art, Place for Art is a body for the promotion of modern and urban art.

The association from Nice creates an unprecedented synergy by highlighting the values of street art and by accompanying both artists and the general public and the regions to allow everyone to be within reach of this urban art.

Unbelievably spectacular, the Live Paintings are the perfect opportunity to see the artists expressing themselves live. You can’t fail to be fascinated when you see the work coming to life in front of your eyes.

Will the stunning 21-metre-long fresco make way for a new major work? To find out, you’ll need to come to the event!

And with a Festival that this year cedes the best spot to female artists, the performances allow this art to be discovered from a different angle.

A LARGE SPOT FOR FEMALE STREET ART AND GRAFFITI

No less than five female street artists take centre stage this year.

Among them, Annabelle Tattu, a versatile and multifaceted artist, invites us into her fantastic and intriguing world. From oil on canvas to fresco, and from spray paint to sculpture, every medium is good to invite us to dream. The singularity of her forms and colours have quickly become her signature.

The artistic signature of Florence Fabris, a plastic and tattoo artist, comprises modern graphic shapes in pop colours.

As for Jen Miller, she fixes words from newspapers, brochures and other magazines to make true works of art. The vibrant colours offered to her by spray paints give her a fantastic freedom of movement.

Lastly, while Djoulay Papaye wins us over with her colourful, engaged and resolutely feminist universe, Pika offers her vision of the world and promises us an intimate moment in which sharing and friendship are key.

NOT FORGETTING THE GRAFFITI ARTISTS!

While the female artists present at the festival will show you their talents, the graffiti artists are no less active.

As a result, the Massoins Festival will welcome Trace mat, a self-taught artist and illustrator. This Cannes native draws his inspiration from the pop culture of the 1980s and 1990s, from the world of comics, and from Manga.

Today, the artist blends the techniques between illustration, digital art and urban painting, and wants to share his passion with younger people.

The aim of the artist Artmor1 is to use art to pass messages to the viewer in order to make them feel emotions, ask questions and travel.

Through his creations, the artist plunges us into our own corners while calling out to us.

Freely expressing their experiences, their emotions and sharing their passion: these are the aims of these talented artists that you can meet at the Massoins Festival!
