37th Mouans-Sartoux Book Festival

See you October 4 to 6, 2024!

The Mouans-Sartoux Book Festival, a veritable showcase for contemporary literature, is an international event that this year welcomes 300 guests to delight book lovers. Nestled in the heart of the Alpes-Maritimes, in the charming commune of Mouans-Sartoux, this emblematic festival takes place every autumn and is a unique rendez-vous for all bibliophiles and readers. This event, whose guest of honor this year is Robert Laffont, is packed with events and meetings! Its aim: to celebrate literary culture in all its forms.

A treasure trove of literary discoveries

The Mouans-Sartoux Book Festival is the ideal place to discover a varied literary program, from contemporary novels to poetry and comic strips.

This book festival features committed authors who share their passion and expertise with the public. Visitors can attend literary concerts and enriching encounters, where writers present and discuss their works.

Thanks to its convivial atmosphere, every reader can let himself be carried away by the magic of the pages and discover new books that will feed his passion for literature.

Éditions Robert Laffont: Festival Guest of Honor and Pillar of Literary Publishing

Founded in 1941, Éditions Robert Laffont offers a wide range of books, from novels to non-fiction. Their catalog includes a number of collections that are well known to booksellers and readers alike. Among these are “Pavillons”, which has been promoting quality international literature since its foundation; “R”, aimed at teenagers and young adults; and “La Bête Noire”, dedicated to thrillers and crime thrillers for the general public.

The house’s collection also includes a wide range of novels, political, historical and topical works, as well as biographies, memoirs and essays. Éditions Robert Laffont publishes French and international writers who enjoy widespread popular success. Their aim remains unchanged: to remain curious about the world, to surprise, inform, touch, entertain and provoke thought.

Enlightening encounters with authors

One of the festival’s major assets is its ability to bring together internationally renowned writers and passionate readers.

Roundtables, writing workshops and animations enable participants to interact directly with authors and ask questions about their creations.

These enriching exchanges offer insight into the challenges writers face in today’s world, and provide a better understanding of the nuances of different literary genres.

The literary concerts that punctuate the festival add a unique artistic dimension, making this event a truly lively and dynamic book fair in Mouans-Sartoux.

A lasting commitment to promoting reading

Award ceremony by Alexis Jenni, Prix Goncourt winner

Since its creation 36 years ago, the Mouans-Sartoux Book Festival has been guided by two major commitments: ecology and humanism.

With these values in mind, and at a time when the urgency of climate change is shaping public debate, the Festival du Livre has launched a prize to reward a book that raises public awareness of ecological issues, the future of our planet, biodiversity, pollution…

On Saturday October 5 at 10:30 a.m., Alexis Jenni will present the Mouans-Sartoux prize for a book committed to the planet at the Espace A café littéraire. 5 categories are up for grabs: Novels, Essays, Youth, Comics, Teens.
