5 Promenade des Anglais, 06000 Nice
A sublime art deco building on the legendary Promenade des Anglais. Today, part of it houses one of Nice's tourist offices. Since 2021, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Originally, it was a villa called "Les algues", built in 1861 for seasonal rental. In 1934, it was renovated in an art deco style. A sculpted composition by Gérard Choain adorns the entrance and represents the tourist riches of the Nice region. At that time, the building housed the offices of the Paris-Lyon-Mediterranean (P.L.M.) railway company.
