Chapel of Mercy was originally a convent of Capuchins. The severity and sobriety of its facade meet the requirements of St Francis of Assisi who does not allow wealth even in the churches of the order. Its steeple rises to 35 meters.
Nel 1615, il principe Onorato II Grimaldi e padre Lorenzo de Brindes, generale dei cappuccini della provincia di Genova, posero la prima pietra del convento Mentonese di quest'ordine. Nel 1618, Onorato II fece sfondare la rue Neuve, oggi rue de Bréa, per facilitare l'accesso al convento. I cappuccini servirono questa struttura fino al 1793. Chiuso dalla Convenzione, il convento ospita il municipio di Mentone dal 1861 al 1881 e poi trasformato in caserma e la cappella diventa un negozio dove...
