Composed of several hamlets — Les Cabanes, La Madone, La Sirole on the heights; La Manda in the Lower Var Valley — Colomars is a small recent residential village built on a ridge overlooking the Plaine du Var.
The commune is known as the land of olive trees, the famous cailletiers du Pays Niçois, which produces olives appreciated for their lemony anise flavour and oil renowned among true gourmets.

Sights: Notre Dame-de-la-Nativité church (19th c); Saint-Roch chapel at La Sirole (1857); little valleys with botanical and geological features; cascades and aqueducts to bring water to old oil mills.
