A candlelit viola da gamba concert with soprano Jeanne Bernier and Lukas Schneider in the heart of the old village in an exceptional setting,
It was between the Renaissance and the Baroque that the polyphonic chanson, sublimating poetry under the reign of the Valois, gave way to the Air de Cour at the beginning of the 17th century. The main themes of these new airs were inspired by both the poetry of the galantes and the current events of those ancient times: amorous passions, praise for the forest, the musical tomb.... Accompanying the song alone with the figured bass is a testimony to an almost-forgotten practice that has only recently been rediscovered. With this fragile music and the intimate sonorities of viol and song, the two musicians invite us to discover the musical landscape of yesteryear.
