Best Craftsman in France
Master craftsman in arts and crafts
Eddie Légus was born in Baccarat, the city of crystal, so it was only natural that at the age of 14 he began an apprenticeship with René Georges Baillet, MOF 1965, with this noble material and a technique that is particularly difficult to learn, that of art glassmaking with a blowtorch.
With his Compagnon Master's degree in hand, he was the youngest craftsman to win the gold medal at the 19th National Labour Exhibition at the age of 23 and became, in his turn, like three of his Masters, one of the Best Workers in France, decorated by the President of the Republic, F. Mitterrand.
1997 Best Worker of France in Artistic Glassmaking, then in 2000 as Designated Designer in the earth and glass trades, decorated by the President of the Republic, J. Chirac. National Grand Prize in the Talent Competition awarded by the minister of Industry Christian Pierret. Eddie Légus is today "Master Craftsman in Art Crafts" and one of the most titled in this profession, he dedicates his life to the creation and teaching of his art.
