This 2nd summer exhibition at l'espace sans nom presents the results of a shared residency in Strasbourg, during which the two artists produced individual and duo works using their favourite technique: cut-out paper.
"The collaboration began with the first observations of our respective creative protocols and working techniques. These necessarily shake up our habits, free us from a certain servitude to our artistic routine and open up new perspectives in terms of aesthetic choices and working methods. We were also constrained by a very short creation time and wanted to limit the raw material for our collages to just two or three old magazines. At this stage, a kind of spontaneity and improvisation emerges that feeds the meeting of our two worlds".
The outcome of this meeting also took the form of an eponymous book, which will be presented to the public for the first time at the vernissage on 24 July.
Located in the heart of the village centre of Saorge, l'espace sans nom is a new space dedicated to the visual arts, at the crossroads between contemporary art and Do-It-Yourself art on the fringes of institutional circuits.
