He has often drawn inspiration from artists, such as the world of Hieronymus Bosch, but also from his friends, such as Roland Topor, who created the drawings for Casanova's magic lanterna for him. To explain the structure of La Dolce Vita, he readily cites Pablo Picasso, with whom he shares artistic affinities and the predominant place of dreams in their work.
