Napoleon I's younger sister, Pauline Borghese, famous for her beauty, was a regular visitor to Grasse, staying with the Amic family in the Pontevès mansion.
She was particularly fond of this grove of holm oaks overlooking the ramparts of the old town, where you can still see the armchair carved out of the stone in which she liked to sit and contemplate the magnificent view of the coastline and the Mediterranean, and in fine weather, her native Corsica.
