Painted walls dotted around the city share the limelight, illustrating mythical scenes and icons from the world of cinema. From the Croisette to the old town of Le Suquet, these works of 7th Art offer a different way of seeing the city.
Guy de Maupassant is one of the greatest French writers and journalists in history. It was thanks to his boat, the Bel-Ami, that he discovered Cannes, which he quickly fell in love with. In memory of the artistic work that he bequeathed to France and the whole world, the Cannes Town Hall dedicates to him a 95m2 mural located just opposite the "Chalet de l'Isère", where he resided, and to near the street that bears his name. The Avenue de Grasse district thus welcomes its first fresco. This approach extends our Frescoes Plan which meets three objectives: beautifying buildings and buildings, cultivating the cultural identity of our city and strengthening the tourist appeal of Cannes. This operation also makes it possible to strongly support artistic creativity, improve the quality of life of residents and the transmission of art and culture. »
