The GR 52 crosses the Mercantour National Park from North to South to reach the Mediterranean Sea in Menton.
This route is the most Alpine of the Alpes Maritimes, passing famous hills such as the Pas des Ladres and the Pas du Mont Colomb, and numerous lakes and mountain refuges until reaching the blue backdrop of the Mediterranaen in Menton. It also follows the footsteps of our ancestors in the Vallée des Merveilles where, 6,000 years later, their beliefs are immortalised in stone.The route can be completed in 10-11 days depending on the length of stopovers.
