For 50 years, the Nuits du Château de la Moutte have been bringing Saint-Tropez to life in the moonlight, between the courtyard, the palm grove and the Canebiers beach, with concerts of classical, baroque, jazz and world music. A magical rendezvous under the stars.
A piano under the moon
The famous Moonlight Sonata, under the starry sky... Dream the music of the most beautiful pages of Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel, Liszt, by one of the most exceptional pianists of his generation, who in just a few years has imposed his musical personality all over the world.

Lucas Debargue (Piano)
"Lucas Debargue's incredible talent, artistic vision and creative freedom" were revealed by his performances at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015, and rewarded with the local Music Critics Association prize.

Today, Lucas is invited to perform in recital and as soloist with major orchestras in the most prestigious concert halls, such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, the Konzerthaus and Vienna's Musikverein, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Philharmonie de Paris, as well as London's Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Cologne Philharmonie, Tokyo's Suntory Hall, concert halls in Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Seoul and New York's Carnegie Hall. He is a regular participant in many renowned festivals, including La Roque d'Anthéron and Verbier.
Lucas Debargue collaborates with conductors such as Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Jurowski, Lorenzo Viotti, Andrey Boreyko, Tugan Sokhiev, Bertrand de Billy and Ludovic Morlot, as well as orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, Toronto Symphony, Warsaw Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Stockholm Radio Orchestra, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, Netherlands Philharmonic and Tokyo's Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. His chamber music partners include Gidon Kremer, Janine Jansen and Martin Fröst.

Born in 1990, Lucas has forged a highly unconventional path to success. Having discovered classical music at the age of 10, the musician began to nurture his passion and curiosity through a variety of artistic and intellectual experiences, including advanced studies in literature and philosophy. A meeting with the now-famous piano teacher Rena Shereshevskaya marked a radical turning point in Lucas' musical practice: it was the vision and guidance of this singular pedagogue that convinced the young artist to devote himself professionally to music.
A performer of fierce integrity and powerful communicative power, Lucas Debargue draws his inspiration from literature, painting, cinema and jazz, and builds highly personal interpretations from a carefully chosen repertoire. He is particularly passionate about lesser-known composers such as Karol Szymanowski, Nikolai Medtner and Miłosz Magin.

Lucas devotes much of his time to composition, and has already premiered over twenty works for solo piano and chamber music ensembles. These include a concertino for piano, percussion and string orchestra: Orpheo di camera, premiered by the Kremerata Baltica, and a Trio for piano and strings premiered at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. As a permanent guest artist of the Kremerata Baltica, Lucas was commissioned to write a chamber opera.

Lucas Debargue is an exclusive artist on the Sony Classical label. He has already released five albums featuring music by Scarlatti, Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, Ravel, Medtner and Szymanowski. His monumental four-disc tribute to Scarlatti was hailed by the New York Times and selected as one of "the ten classical albums to usher in the next decade". He also recorded, with Gidon Kremer and his Kremerata Baltica, a CD entirely devoted to Polish composer Miłosz Magin: "Zal". A true discovery, this album explores the fascinating universe of a composer hitherto unknown to the public.

In March 2024, Sony Classical released its latest recording: a 4-disc box set containing the complete works for solo piano by Gabriel Fauré. This album was a major commercial success, and received rave reviews from the international press.
Lucas' breakthrough at the Tchaikovsky Competition is the subject of the documentary Tout à la Musique, released in 2017. Directed by Martin Mirabel and produced by Bel Air Media, it was presented at the Biarritz International Film Festival.
