Nicolas Dufetel (Musicologist)
Nicolas Dufetel is a musicologist, CNRS research fellow and deputy director of IReMus (Institut de recherche en musicologie) in Paris. Author of a thesis on Franz Liszt, he has been a guest researcher at BnF and a laureate of the Houghton Library (Harvard University) and the Humboldt Foundation in Weimar. His research focuses on 19th-century Europe, in particular Liszt, questions of aesthetics, epistemology, the dialogue between the arts and the history of music in the Ottoman Empire.
He regularly collaborates with a number of festivals and organizations (Vézelay, Lisztomanias, Philharmonie de Paris, Luxembourg, etc.) and has published several books on Liszt, Wagner and religious music, most recently "Le Château de la Moutte: Un joyau romantique à Saint-Tropez" (Flammarion).
He is also deputy mayor of Angers, responsible for culture and heritage.
