Mountain leader Alain Creton and ethnobotanist

He lives in the Roya valley in the heart of a chestnut grove.
Passionate about edible and medicinal plants, living in the heart of a small paradise that demonstrates that permaculture is not an empty word, in love with human exchanges, committed (and more than that) to helping people for whom help is a question of survival, he offers mountain holidays aimed at families and individuals, schoolchildren and leisure centres and companies through team-building holidays.
Totally self-taught in the field of ethnobotany, his activity is not that of a researcher, but rather that of a transmitter of knowledge.
It was out of curiosity that, over thirty years ago, he began to learn the names of the flowers, trees and plants he came into contact with as a mountain guide.
At the time, he lived on the Côte d'Azur and often went into the desert and up into the mountains. He wanted to understand how plants survived in such demanding environments. Plant biology and physiology became his passions.
A writer, he is a passionate and generous transmitter of knowledge.
He is the author of three books on plants, published by Sequoia:

- Edible wild plants (2010)
- Plantes de santé", with Laurence Chabat (2013)
He discovered basketry 5 years ago. Introduced to wicker weaving during a short course, he soon felt the urge to explore wild basketry. The forest where he lives abounds in natural resources such as hazel, chestnut, clematis, bramble and dogwood. Today, this has become another of his passions, which he tries to share through his courses.
