Prokofiev's ‘Peter and the Wolf’ introduces children to the instruments of the orchestra. This 1936 work enhances their intelligence and takes listeners back to childhood with the story of Peter, the disobedient child.
The Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice offers a new interpretation of this famous tale. Conductor Alexandra Cravero will conduct the orchestra and weave the musical fabric of the story. Each character in Peter and the Wolf is represented by a group of instruments (strings, brass or woodwinds) and a theme of their own: Peter, the bird, the cat, the grandfather, the duck, the hunters and the wolf - a magnificent introduction to classical music.
