The Place Saint Martin in La Brigue marks the entrance to the village. Dedicated to Saint Martin, the village's patron saint whose feast day is celebrated on November 11, the square is a true gateway to this beautiful village.
As you enter the square, you'll be immediately captivated by a huge fresco depicting the Brigasque region in all its splendor. Just below this fresco, a sculpture of a Brigasque ewe stands proudly, symbolizing the region's pastoral heritage.
Around the square, you'll find two welcoming hotel-restaurants inviting visitors to savour the local cuisine. The town hall is also located here. Under the green stone arches, you'll find the local post office and tourist information office, ready to help visitors and locals alike.
Place Saint Martin is also an important religious center. The majestic Collégiale Saint Martin stands here, framed by two small chapels of the Pénitents blancs. These chapels add a touch of serenity and spirituality, reinforcing the sacred character of this historic site.
