The presence of ten Brachychiton populneus in the Biovès gardens is due to Edouard André, a renowned French gardener and landscaper, who designed many parks and gardens, such as those of Monte Carlo, Euxinograd, Montevideo and Luxembourg, and to whom we owe the development of the public gardens of Menton, in 1899.
Located in the heart of the city, these gardens will become a few years later the gardens of Biovès, in tribute to Emile Biovès who was mayor of the city from 1881 to 1885. Every year, the gardens host the famous Fête du Citron®, which takes on yellow-orange colors for the occasion.
