Tree of the Casuarinaceae family reaching 25 to 30 meters in height, whose gray bark is cracked in long
The gray bark cracks into long longitudinal strips, the Casuarina equisetifolia resembles conifers, hence its name of Australian pine.
Its foliage is evergreen and rough, in shades of silvery green and its flowering, which is done in the beautiful days, consists of male flowers, of color cream turning to brown in the form of spherical ears, and of female flowers of a more reddish brown.
Casuarina equisetifolia, which is resistant to salt wind, grows spontaneously on exposed coastal beaches and headlands.
Known to provide some of the best firewood in the world, it is also used for building boats, houses and furniture.
