Madone de Fenestre owes its name to a hole in the Cayre de la Madone, a rock behind the sanctuary, where the Virgin appeared one day.
The interior is baroque in style. After several fires, the sanctuary was restored in the 19th century. The High Altar is dedicated to La Vierge Notre-Dame de Fenestre, whose statue in monochrome Lebanese Cedar dates back to the 14th century. The numerous miracles that have been attributed to him explain why he is worshiped during the 2 annual processions.
