A one-man show retracing the heroic story of the woman we call Josephine Baker.
The fire burning beneath her skin gave her the courage to flee segregation in St. Louis, where she worked for white families from the age of 7. She found the courage to flee the men she was married to at a very young age. Finally, she arrived in Paris, a land of freedom that marked the beginning of her career.
This show is a journey through her songs, her dances, her emotions, to recount the defining moments of her life as an artist, but above all as a woman, an activist, and a mother. More than a portrait, it is a true tribute to the world's first Black star.
