Émile Ollivier, owner of a bastide on the edge of the remarkable Les Salins site, was a man sensitive to nature and his environment. This is still evident today in the various plant species that adorn the grounds of Château de la Moutte.
Spread throughout the château's rooms, the herbarium plates from La Moutte bear witness to the exoticism of the area. The second half of the 19th century saw the creation of several acclimatization gardens in the Var region, expressing an exotic, measured and domesticated strangeness.
This temporary exhibition is part of the Émile Ollivier bicentenary and the 50th anniversary of the Conservatoire du Littoral.
