Launching from Kiel, Germany, The Ocean Race Europe will cover seven maritime legs to Kotor, Montenegro. Nice, the only French port of call on the route, will host the IMOCA boats in its bay for three days.
The Ocean Race, with its crewed format and IMOCA monohulls, places sporting competition at the heart of a unifying project across the continent. Its revival since 2021 extends the spirit of the Race of Europe, created in the 1980s under the impetus of the European Commission. Nice's strategic location reflects this ambition to reconnect Europeans by sea.
