"The Silent Men" was born from a meeting in June 2017 in Monaco between guitarist Marco (formerly of The Four Horsemen: a Metallica tribute band) and drummer Carmelo (formerly of White Chapel, Dr. Manhattan, etc.), both huge Dream Theater fans.
For a few months, they were the only members of the band, and it was at that precise moment that they decided on the name: "The Silent Men."
Indeed, "The Silent Man," from Dream Theater's album "Awake," is a rather unique Dream Theater song, as it is played acoustically and has a rather simple ballad structure, something quite rare among our New York friends. It was therefore a choice based on a concern for humility and simplicity. This choice is also explained by the fact that Marco and Carmelo remained the band's sole members for a certain period, and their capacity for expression was therefore quite limited, bordering on silence.
In 2018, keyboardist Franck and bassist Romain joined the band, allowing them to expand their cover repertoire in order to remain faithful to Dream Theater's hybrid style: prog tracks (Erotomania, The Count of Tuscany), metal (As I Am, The Mirror, Pull Me Under), and ballads (Peruvian Skies, Hollow Years).
Finally, at the beginning of 2019, the lineup was complete, and The Silent Men performed in various venues until the end of 2021.
The band then underwent some changes, eventually reforming in May 2024 to include new tracks such as "Home," "Change of Seasons," and "Metropolis Part One."
