Geoarchaeological narratives of the lagoon at the dawn of the Anthropocene. Conference led by Alexandra Bivolaru, Marie Curie postdoctoral researcher at the University of Venice.
This conference explores the archaeo-environmental evolution of the Venetian Lagoon before the founding of the city, highlighting geo-eco-anthropological dynamics of the region. Through a geoarchaeological approach, this conference analyzes the natural and anthropogenic transformations of the lagoon since the pre-Roman period, offering a new perspective on the beginnings of the Paleo-Anthropocene and their role in the formation of the Venetian landscape.
