Perched at over 800 metres above sea level, Mons is one of the most spectacular villages in the Pays de Fayence. Listed as a “Village of Character”, it offers rich heritage and breathtaking views. During this guided tour organised by the Tourist Office, discover this authentic hilltop village and its fascinating history.
Starting from the Tourist Information Office, let yourself be guided through the charming streets of Mons on a pleasant walk discovering the village’s architectural and historical heritage.

As the tour unfolds, you will follow the “parcours des enseignes”, a unique trail through the village illustrated with traditional signs that recall the crafts, trades and daily life that once shaped the local community.

The visit also takes you to the Church of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption, whose origins date back to the 12th century. Inside, you will discover an impressive collection of six beautiful Baroque altarpieces, as well as a remarkable display of 91 traditional Provençal santons, reflecting the region’s strong cultural and religious traditions.

Mons is also renowned for its exceptional landscapes. From Place Saint-Sébastien, visitors can admire a breathtaking panorama overlooking the Estérel massif and the Mediterranean coastline. On particularly clear days, it is even possible to glimpse the distant outline of Corsica on the horizon. From the village, the 360° views stretch across mountains, forests and Provençal hills, offering one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the region.

The tour also highlights the ancient history of the surrounding area, with nearby prehistoric dolmens and the impressive Roche Taillée, a remarkable remnant of the Roman aqueduct that once carried water from Mons to Fréjus.

Blending heritage, traditions and extraordinary landscapes, this guided tour invites you to experience the authentic spirit of Mons and discover why this remarkable hilltop village has captivated visitors for centuries.
