Located just 1½ hours from Nice, the Isola 2000 ski resort opens the doors to the southern Alps for you. A resort on the border with Italy, located between the Mercantour National Park in France and the Maritime Alps Park in Italy, Isola 2000 offers an exceptional land in a wild and protected natural environment. Isola 2000, the Alpes-Maritimes freestyle resort

50 years of winter sports at Isola 2000! Discover the essential spots for snowboarders!

Thanks to its exposure and its altitude, the Isola 2000 ski resort is one of the snowiest in the southern Alps, thus offering a snow and sunshine guarantee from December to April. Between 1810 and 3610 m above sea level, there are 120 km of pistes criss-crossing the resort. The resort boasts 42 pistes: 7 green pistes, 22 blue pistes, 11 red pistes and 3 black pistes.

While it offers every form of winter sports, Isola 2000 is the freestyle resort par excellence, with several facilities such as Tony’s Snowland  located in the Marmottes sector, the Biopark and the Boardercross, which welcome you every day from 10:00 to 16:00 to discover new winter sports sensations. For children, the Club Back-to-Back offers improvement lessons for the over 6s.

 

Did you know? Back-to-Back is the most award-winning snowboard club in France! Following Tony RAMOIN, the bronze medallist in Vancouver in 2010, is Julia PERREIRA who won the silver medal in Korea in 2018.

Non-skiing outdoor activities: top up on adrenaline!

Non skiers? Throughout the season, the Isola 2000 ski resort offers you a range of activities for every taste, from relaxation to exploring, and not forgetting adrenaline! Relaxation guaranteed at the Mercantour Aquavallée aquatic centre or in the warm cafés surrounding the ice rink at the snow line. Looking for thrills? Isola 2000 has loads of surprises in store for you with exceptional Nordic activities. In a Musher’s sled, sit back on a guided discovery of the resort at the pace of the sled dogs. Another activity not to be missed: give yourself over to the pleasure of a snowmobile ramble! Driving alone or in pairs on a snowmobile within a magnificent setting, where the feeling of freedom meets wide open spaces at every turn as you weave through the pine trees. Driving on ice may also figure on your to do list of activities to discover this winter, in order to improve your skills so that driving on snow is always a pleasure.

Drinks with Friends at the top of the Mercantour gondola lift. Every Saturday from 10:30 to 12:30, a welcome drink will warm you up in a musical setting, with coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Pedestrians meet up at the top of the Lombarde pass. Skiers meet at the top of the Mercantour gondola lift.

Visit the White Wolf sled dogs park. Come and share a moment of relaxation and affection by meeting the Isola 2000 sled dogs. You’ll leave knowing everything about the Nordic breeds, the pack and the way it works.

Night time outing on snowshoes. Immerse yourself in the nocturnal spirit of the mountain during a two-hour walk in the heart of the valleys! Thanks to your headtorch (supplied) and the company of a guide, celebrate around the campfire enjoying a trapper’s barbecue served with Pérugines à la Niçoise, mulled wine or hot chocolate!

The familypark. Enjoy yourselves as a family at the snowpark dedicated to children! Share winter sports experiences and play at the snow park, no matter your level thanks to tailored spaces.

Toboggan area. An area dedicated to tobogganing is available on the snow line. Your children can enjoy themselves hurtling down the toboggan runs in complete safety.

New at Isola 2000!

Mush the white wolf sled.

Come and meet Lino, June, Naia, Mya, Jump, Nash and the other white wolves of the Musher’s sled to set off to conquer the summits! Enjoy the sled dog experience through Nordic landscapes!

Mini ice rink on the Snow Line

Offered by the La Guinguette snack bar, the new mini ice rink welcomes you on the snow line. Winter sports, events, activities: there’s everything you need to enjoy yourself at the bottom of the pistes!

Marked cross-country ski trail

New signage will make your ski trek to the Lombarde pass safer. A change of scenery and Nordic sensations guaranteed!

Photo spot and video zone

Smile, you’re on camera! A video zone with a viewing screen has been installed in the familypark to immortalize your family moments! Such as the summit of the boardercross and the snow park, where you can now pose before the camera and collect your photo by email by scanning your ticket! So, paste on your best smiles!

The Grand Tour
Difficulty level: Easy. Duration: 2 hours.
Altitude: 2455 m. Elevation: 465 m
Starting point: Pélevos gondola lift.
A beautiful, signposted trail through the woods takes you to the heights of the skiing area, offering you a panoramic view over the winter sports lovers. It’s a beautiful spectacle that will bring the Isola 2000 Grand Tour to life. Find out more

Lombarde Pass
Difficulty level: Easy. Duration: 2½ hours.
Distance: 5.1 km Elevation: 350 m
Starting point: Former customs chalet in Hameau.
Perfect as a family, this south facing signposted trail leads you to the top of the Lombard Pass, where you will have one foot in France and the other in Italy. Unbelievably quintessential! A resin sculpture of an ibex created by the local artist and carnival float builder Cédric Pignataro has dominated the summit since 2017. A beautiful walk to sensational landscapes! Find out more

Tête Mercière
Difficulty level: Average. Duration: 4½ hours.
Distance: 7 km Elevation: 450 m
Starting point: top of the Isola 2000 resort in the area known as “Le Hameau”.
Put on your snowshoes and take this discovery trail to acclimate to the Isola 2000 alpine scene. The Tête Mercière reigns over the upper valleys of Chastillon and Molières. Find out more
