THE PREPARATION CENTRE FOR THE 2024 GAMES:
CANNES

The Town of Cannes offers several preparation centres for the 2024 games. These centres boast recent equipment that allows for practice suited to top-flight sports. The three centres, (Palais des Victoires, Coubertin and Chevalier) are located in the Cannes La Bocca district, 5 minutes from exit 41 of the A8 motorway (24 km from Nice Côte d’Azur airport), near Cannes-Mandelieu airport and less than 2 km from the sea. The centres are also near a shopping area with restaurants and hotels.

Palais des Victoires

The Palais des Victoires in Cannes is a modern sports arena, located in the heart of the future Cité des Sports complex, close to the Maurice Chevalier complex and the Pierre de Coubertin stadium.

The Palais des Victoires was built by the architect Roberto Ferreira, with influence from the Bilbao Conference and Music Centre in Spain It has a total capacity of 4,000 seats.

This gymnasium mainly allows for practicing volleyball, handball and badminton. A weights room and several meeting rooms are also available.

Individual and group changing rooms offer an optimum area for  relaxation and concentration for top-flight sporting clashes.

CHEVALIER COMPLEX

The Maurice Chevalier complex in Cannes, which occupies an area of 15,000 m², is host to all athletic disciplines. The facilities formed the subject of a High Quality Environmental (HQE) approach.

The complex includes an athletics stadium, the Louison Bobet cycling track, a mixed pitch and three football pitches. A weights room and a meeting room are also available.

COUBERTIN COMPLEX

The Pierre de Coubertin complex in Cannes was built in 1969 and was commissioned in 1970. The football club Association Sportive de Cannes Football trains in this complex. It has a current capacity of 12,800. It includes the Coubertin stadium, the Raymond Gioanni stadium, the Marcel Domergue stadium, the Mûriers 3 stadium, school centres for team sports including one with a 200 m athletics track and a mini-racing track. The facilities formed the subject of a High Quality Environmental (HQE) approach.

Football, athletics and grass hockey can be practised in this complex.
