AQUATIC HIKES IN THE COOL!

While the more idle stick to peaceful bathing on the Mediterranean coastline, the more daring have a difficult choice just a short distance from the Coast. Roya, Loup, Estéron… there are many rivers hosting a wide number of activities for all levels! Try hiking in the cool!

AQUATIC HIKING: A CASCADE OF SENSATIONS

Starting from Breil-sur-Roya, Saint-Auban or Courmes, top up on sensations during an aquatic hike. A hike between land and water, where you simply have to follow the guide, walking, sliding, jumping or even just floating, through the clear waters and lush vegetation of the Côte d’Azur rivers.

Of course, all the obstacles, slides and waterfalls can be avoided, allowing access to children aged 7 and over. For the more seasoned, canyoning offers the same programme, with several difficulty levels and additional extreme sensations. Some spots also offer potholing and via ferrata experiences!

HYDROSPEED: A 100%-FRENCH WHITE-WATER INVENTION

Learn to hurtle down the rapids of the Roya, Estéron or Loup on this large foam float.

Instructed by a specialist guide, you will be fitted with a helmet, wetsuit, flippers and a foam float. Head first, you will follow a route and see all the contours and movements of the currents that take you like a fish right to the end of the gorges.

Also called the “river luge”, the hydrospeed allows for moving through the valleys with a unique sliding sensation. No need to go fast to get your dose of adrenalin, you just have to play with the rapids!

CANOE, KAYAK AND RAFTING: ATHLETIC NAVIGATION

Alone or in a group, board these unsinkable vessels to tackle the most ferocious eddies on the rivers of the Côte d’Azur!

As the rapids are classed by different intensities (from 1 to 6), you’ll need to row at the back and front to tackle the currents, avoid the rocks and cross the small water ravines that form the canyons.

While kayaking is practiced individually, rafting can accommodate up to 8 people, with a guide on board, of course.

Grab your paddle and let’s go for a sensational descent!
