The Cannes Yachting Festival

📅 From September 12 to 17, 2023
📍 L’espace voile in Port Canto in Cannes

Every year from 12 to 17 September, in the heart of Cannes, the Yachting Festival welcomes an eclectic selection of boats including monohulls, multihulls with hard or semi-rigid hulls and luxury yachts. These, the most prestigious of motor yachts are presented both in and out of the water. The Palais des Festivals is given over to an exhibition of the architects and designers who built these stylish little gems. The latest models are presented as a world premiere on the jetty, while the Super Yachts Extension gathers about thirty of the biggest superyachts in the world. The Vieux Port also hosts an area on the water entirely focused on electric and hybrid boats, while traditional yachts confront innovation in the ‘Toy’ Area of Port Canto. Here, a wide variety of novel motorised personal watercraft for skimming and fun water sports activities are displayed. Essential equipment for a pleasure yacht! If you have set your sights on a second-hand yacht, head over to the Yacht Brokerage area. You can take the helm and try out a boat. Enjoy the thrill of the sail!

The Royal Regatta in Cannes

📅 From September 24 to 30, 2023
📍 Quai St Pierre in Cannes

In the mild autumn climate of Cannes, the world’s most beautiful traditional yachts gather at the Royal Regatta, in the Bay of Cannes. Whether you are an interested observer or a keen yachtsman (or woman), the sheer spectacle and atmosphere along the quays are quite exceptional, especially at the start of the races! Traditional sailboats, classic yachts, Tofinou, 5.5 Metre, Star and Dragon classes are all on the programme from 24 to 30 September in the Vieux Port. The authenticity of the event is built around the incredible ‘lords of the sea’ as most of the yachts are over a hundred years old. The aesthetic appearance of these historic yachts, which sail under the power of the wind and the elbow grease of several dozen crew, give this race a unique charm. If you want to see the spectacle close-up, some boat companies even offer boat trips to follow the yachts in the bay! On Quai Laubeuf, there are many activities and events to enjoy throughout the day and evening in the Royal Regatta Village in Cannes: crew parades, tugs-of-war, concerts and festive entertainment… In Cannes, we party on land and at sea!

Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez

📅 From September 29 to October 8, 2023
📍 Port of Saint-Tropez

For a fortnight, the famous little fishing village welcomes a mix of prestigious traditional sailing boats and the latest, most cutting-edge racing prototypes. For the first week, Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez welcomes more than two hundred classic and modern yachts, while the second week sees the arrival of the large modern yachts including around 50 ‘Maxi Yachts.’ Alongside these famous fleets of yachts, a new class of competitors will compete in the last regatta of the season: The Performance Cruising Multihulls. These catamarans of over 55 feet in length combine pleasure and performance to offer a grandiose spectacle. A wonderful first! With yachts setting off at full speed, the precise movements of the crew, the wind in the sails, it will certainly be a breathtaking show!

If you would like to have a front-row seat to enjoy this event in Saint-Tropez from 29 September to 8 October and see the crews at work close-up, opt for a day boat trip during the Voiles de Saint-Tropez. Colours, noise, atmosphere, breeze and lunch at sea, everything is combined to make this a memorable moment in one of the most beautiful bays on the French Riviera.
