From Peillon-village, the Circuit de Lourquière climbs through the Galembert valley, between olive groves and cypress trees. It follows an ancient Roman road offering splendid views of Nice and the sea. After passing through Saint-Martin de Peille, the trail skirts the cliffs of the pointe de Lourquière before descending to the village and its medieval streets.

Bendejun

The “Village des Sources” offers the calm of its countryside and generous vegetation. The abundance of irrigation water has made it famous in the past for its agriculture.

Blausasc

A charming little commune spread over 1,000 ha of Mediterranean forest and olive groves. There’s also an educational farm with domestic animals.

Cantaron

A rural commune made up of 8 hamlets, surrounded by wooded hills and dominated by Mont de l’Ubac. This landscape offers hikers the chance to follow part of the GR51.

Coaraze

Starting from this “Village of the Sun”, there are 30 hiking trails to discover. As you stroll through the narrow streets, you can read the time on the famous sundials by Cocteau, Goetz, Ben, Moya…

Tales

The commune covers almost 2,000 hectares, divided between the old village, its various districts and 3 hamlets. The old village, perched on a rocky outcrop, overlooks the Paillon valley.

L'Escarène

This medieval village was an obligatory stop on the Salt Route until the 19th century. Its motto “sta viator” – “stop traveler” – is even more relevant today.

Lucéram

This typical fortified medieval village is rich in heritage. The green, family-friendly Peïra-Cava resort, at an altitude of 1,500 m, offers a wide range of activities.

Peillon: a charming hilltop village in the hinterland of Nice

Clinging to the mountainside, Peillon is one of the most beautiful perched villages in the Alpes-Maritimes.
