Biot, I love Christmas

This year, the magic of Christmas is taking hold in Biot, a village of character on the Côte d’Azur, which is being transformed into a picture-postcard setting from 30 November to 30 December 2025. Illuminations, a Christmas market, light parades, gourmet workshops and a meeting with Father Christmas set the pace for a whole month of activities for all the family.

Biot J’adore Noël: the festivities kick off

On Sunday 30 November, Biot kicks off “Biot j’adore Noël” in the heart of the village.

On the programme:

5pm – Sainte-Cécile concert by the Harmonie de Biot in the church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine.
6pm – Launch of the illuminations, opening of the very first Christmas Window and discovery of the Facades Trail in Place de Gaulle.
6.15pm – A glass of friendship offered by the City of Biot, to share a convivial moment under the new Christmas lights.

An evening of music, poetry and light, ideal for getting into the festive spirit.

The Great Christmas Market: a must for your festive season

Biot’s flagship December event, the Big Christmas Market takes over the village from 19 to 30 December 2025 (closed on 25 December). The wooden chalets, decorated like a small village at the North Pole, display local creations and seasonal delicacies.

Along the chalet promenade, nearly 30 craftspeople, designers and producers will be selling Christmas decorations and objects, jewellery and fashion accessories, sweet and savoury treats, local specialities and comforting drinks.

Christmas market opening times:

  • Friday 19 December: 6-9pm
  • 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 December: 11am-7.30pm
  • Wednesday 24 December: 11am-4pm
  • Closed Thursday 25 December

The opening of the market on 19 December is another highlight, with an inaugural cocktail party on Place de Gaulle, hot drinks, roasted chestnuts, champagne soup, complimentary mignardises and a concert by the Biot brass band to officially launch this Côte d’Azur Christmas village.

The Path of the 7 facades

Three new features to discover

This year, Biot is adding to its Trail of 7 Facades, which you can follow through the narrow streets of the village from 30 November to 4 January. Three new façades have been added to this brightly-lit, scenographic trail, where each house becomes the setting for a story.

Among the worlds to discover

  • The Hansel and Gretel-style gingerbread house, all biscuits, icing sugar and glittering sweets.
  • The frosted kingdom, with ice crystals, dancing snowflakes and silver reflections.
  • The Teddy Bears’ Villa, a soft bubble in the heart of winter.
  • The giant gift that welcomes visitors as an XXL present with golden bows.
  • Santa’s workshop, surrounded by white Lapland fir trees, revealing the secrets of toy preparation.
  • The fir tree façade, a tribute to enchanted forests.
  • The house of surprises, filled with ribbons, packages and mysterious treats.

At nightfall, these façades will be added to the illuminations that will adorn Biot with garlands, stars and sparkling decorations throughout the event.

The Shutters of Christmas: an open-air art exhibition

From 1ᵉʳ to 24 December – Biot Village

From December 1 to 24, Biot lives to the rhythm of its Christmas Shutters, a tradition that has become unmissable. Every day, a new decorated shutter opens in the village, like a gigantic Advent calendar.

The creations are the brainchild of local schools, pupils from the Espace des Arts et de la Culture, children from the IME les Hirondelles and pupils from the Colibris International Montessori School.

It’s a poetic journey that showcases the creativity of the children and offers a gentle, moving stroll through the decorated streets.

Two key moments in the magic of Bioto

Light parades: a magical journey across Europe

From 20 to 30 December, every evening (at 5.15pm and 6.30pm) Biot plays host to spectacular light parades from all over Europe. Enchanted unicorns, illuminated stilt-walkers, hot-air balloons floating through the night, luminous bears, giant elephants and fairy-tale characters plunge the village into a timeless atmosphere.

These strolls, created by French, Italian and Dutch companies, transform the village into an open-air stage and promise magical memories for young and old alike.

Santa’s workshop: the long-awaited encounter

From 20 to 30 December, Santa’s workshop will be set up in the Hedberg-Torun showrooms. Here, children can take a behind-the-scenes look at how presents are prepared, entrust their last wishes to the old man in red and hang their wish on the magic tree.

Father Christmas will also be wandering through the narrow streets of the village, meeting families at the heart of the Christmas market and the illuminations.

Christmas cookery festival in Biot: a gourmet rendezvous

From 20 to 30 December – Hedberg-Torun showrooms

For its 5thᵉ edition the Festival de cuisine, is organised from 20 to 30 December in the Hedberg-Torun showrooms. Workshops, demonstrations and gourmet encounters bring together Michelin-starred chefs, Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Best Craftsmen in France) and excellent craftsmen from Biot, the Côte d’Azur and beyond.

On the programme: revisited festive menus, creative pastry-making, chocolate-making, oriental cuisine, truffles and the great classics of French gastronomy. Details of the workshops and how to register can be found from 12 December on biot.fr.
