Christmas in Fréjus

The magic of the festive season lights up Fréjus from 6 December 2025 to 4 January 2026!

The town of Fréjus will once again be transformed into a veritable showcase of light to celebrate the festive season. From 6 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, the town’s historic centre, districts and landmarks will come alive with an exceptional programme of Provençal traditions, enchanting events and great family get-togethers.
An enchanting Christmas, full of discoveries, to enjoy together in the heart of the Côte d’Azur.

A magical programme for all ages

The festivities kick off on 6 December at 6.30pm in the Place Formigé, with a lively and festive inaugural evening, officially launching a month of magic in Fréjus.

Monumental mapping of Saint-Léonce Cathedral
The not-to-be-missed “Illumination Festive” mapping show returns every evening from 6 December to 4 January, at 6pm, 6.45pm and 7.15pm, projected onto the facades of the Cathedral of Saint-Léonce. This visual and musical show transforms the building into a spectacular fresco of light, attracting thousands of visitors every year.

Ice rink & funfair
On the Place Agricola, the ice rink and funfair will be welcoming young and old alike from 6 December to 4 January. With rides, lights, treats and a festive atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for the whole family to spend some quality time together.

Open-air cinema
A much-anticipated new feature: 6 free open-air cinema screenings, scheduled throughout the month as part of the “Christmas Open-Air Cinema” programme. Family films, a cosy atmosphere and a magical setting to enjoy winter in a different way.

Traditions and authentic Christmas spirit

Christmas in Fréjus is also a tribute to the roots of Provence. The Foire aux Santons, from 6 to 22 December 2025 at the Salle Riculphe, highlights regional craftsmanship with an exceptional selection of traditional figurines. These carefully crafted little works of art allow you to recreate the magic of the nativity scenes in your own home.

On display at the Tourist Office, the giant cot “Fréjus au temps des crèches” retraces more than 2,000 years of Fréjus’ history through a meticulous reconstruction of the local heritage: the Arènes, the Cathédrale Saint-Léonce, the Base Nature and the Villa Aurélienne.
This evolving work, created by the Tourist Office and the Santons d’Analy workshop, involves hundreds of hours of work, more than 520 santons, 40 houses, 10 monuments and an exceptionally fine decoration. A real journey back in time.

This year, Fréjus is staging a Christmas market on an unprecedented scale, with over 80 chalets spread between Place Formigé, Place Clemenceau and the adjoining streets. Craft products, decorations, gift ideas, gourmet specialities and a warm atmosphere: it’s a not-to-be-missed event.

The magic of Christmas in every district

The festivities are not confined to the historic centre. Each district takes part in the event with its own activities:

In Port-Fréjus, the maritime atmosphere mingles with the festivities, with regular events and a village spirit.
In Saint-Aygulf, shows and mascots enliven the heart of the district.
In Villamare, the decorations, family events and friendly atmosphere guarantee a Christmas on a human scale.

As for the Enchanted Bubbles, they take over the town like little miniature worlds: automatons, soft lights, enchanted scenes… Each bubble is an invitation to contemplate and attracts the attention of young and old alike.

A responsible Christmas we can enjoy together

Fréjus is continuing its commitment to a sustainable Christmas. The illuminations are made using low-energy LEDs, the ice rink is optimised to reduce its energy impact, and public lighting is limited in the middle of the night. In this way, the town has managed to keep the magic alive while respecting the environment.

With its harmonious blend of Provencal traditions, visual innovations, family events and festive moments for all, Christmas in Fréjus 2025 promises to be more enchanting than ever.
With its illuminated heritage, exceptional Christmas market, monumental nativity scene and fairytale parades, the town is inviting everyone to enjoy a month of December filled with emotion and sweet magic.
