5 – TASTE THE (real!) TROPÉZIENNE TART

A mythical Saint-Tropez delicacy to be savoured and shared without moderation!

Created in 1955, this speciality has become the jewel in the crown of Tropezian gastronomy. For the record, Brigitte Bardot discovered this now-ubiquitous tart during the filming of “Et Dieu… créa la femme”, and suggested to pastry chef Alexandre Micka that he name it “La Tarte Tropézienne”. Made with cream and brioche and sprinkled with generous grains of sugar, the Tarte Tropézienne now comes in dozens of variations with fruit, but the real thing, the authentic in its simplest form, remains a real delight! 7 – TAKE A TOUR OF THE TOWERS!

See: the towers of Saint-Tropez!

In days gone by, 4 towers encircled the bay of Saint-Tropez to protect the people of Saint-Tropez: the tour du Portalet, the tour Vieille, the Tour de Suffren, a few ruins of which are still visible, and the Tour Jarlier. The tour Vieille and the tour du Portalet, dating from the 15th century, are the guardians of the Saint-Tropez cove, keeping watch over the maritime entrances. The Jarlier tower, built a century later, gives a medieval tone to the village, located in its historic centre, Rue Jarlier.
