Discovering the Ile Saint-Honorat in Cannes

Nature and spirituality, a jewel in the bay of Cannes, the island of Saint-Honorat lives to the peaceful rhythm of the monastery of the monks of Lérins. Whether you’re a visitor for a day or a pilgrim on retreat, come and enjoy the beauty of the place and the sounds of nature to welcome the silence… Set off to discover the sublime island of Saint-Honorat!

HAVEN OF PEACE AND WINE ESTATE

Did you know? The island of Saint-Honorat has had a monastic vocation since 410 AD.

When you visit the island of Saint-Honorat, you’ll find the Monastère Notre-Dame de l’Abbaye de Lérins. The 21 monks who now make up the monastery’s community have been cultivating their eight-hectare vineyard with art and passion since the Middle Ages. All the stages (pruning, disbudding and harvesting) are carried out by hand. During your walk, discover the 10th-century chapels and 11th-century remains dotted around the island, leaving you free to explore the small natural creeks and lanes lined with olive trees and Aleppo pines.
