Located on Menton’s hills, you’ll be transported by the subtle smells and guided by the song of the birds that have taken up residence in the gardens. With the « Jardin Remarquable » label and listed as a Historic Monument, the Jardin de la Serre de la Madone offers a real escape between the sea and mountains.

Real open air greenhouse, a paradise to discover!

Located on the seafront in a district of Menton called Petite Afrique, the Jardin Maria Serena is protected by the cliffs along the Italian border. The temperature never drops below 5°C in this garden known as the most temperate in France. Your gaze will inevitably be drawn upwards in this garden that is a hymn to verticality and whose plants come from South Africa and Brazil. Did you know, the Villa Maria Serena was built from plans drawn up by Charles Garnier, the architect of the Opéra de Paris?

The Jardin Fontana Rosa is a perfect blend of Spanish opulence and the Menton lifestyle!

Its creator Vicente Balsco Ibanez, a Spanish writer, made it a place of inspiration. Between the ceramic buildings and portraits of great authors, the Jardin Fontana Rosa displays its exuberance and charm… Once through heavy gate, discover the ceramic portraits of Balzac, Dickens and Cervantes. The Jardin Fontana Rosa is without doubt one of the most original gardens in Menton – even the rarest – born out of the imagination of an extravagant writer! VISIT TO THE JARDIN DES COLOMBIERES

More than a garden, a work of art in Menton!

A garden, an artist! Here Ferdinand Bac, writer, draftsman and talent cartoonist during the Belle Epoque and landscaper made this property an unconventional space. Alternating between frescoes and ceramics, the Jardin des Colombières is an experience of illusion and discovery. Composed in several parts, each is arranged according to a mythological theme or a symbolic object. Note, this garden is private. Take advantage of the guided tours offered by the Menton Tourist Office during the garden festival and garden month.

VISIT THE JARDIN DU PALAIS DE CARNOLES

A “Jardin Remarquable”, go for a walk between the orange blossom and jasmine!

Close to the centre of Menton, in the former summer residence of the Princes of Monaco you will discover in a single place more than 130 varieties of citrus fruit – including 24 sweet orange trees, 6 Seville orange trees, 6 lemon trees… In this place of rest, you’ll be carried away by the fruity and flowery fragrances that fill the Jardin du Palais Carnolès.
