The Palace of the Princes of Monaco is a private residence whose Grand Apartments are open to visitors from April to October. A visit to the Grand Apartments is a chance to discover the splendour and treasures of this princely palace, including the Hercules Gallery with its 16th-century mythological frescoes, the Hall of Mirrors, the Louis XV Salon, the Throne Room and the Palatine Chapel. You will finish your princely immersion by taking the sublime double-revolution marble staircase leading straight to the Court of Honour.

A SHOW IN ITSELF: THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD

Every day at 11.55am in Monaco – Place du Palais!

Since their creation in 1817, the Prince’s Carabinieri have been responsible for guarding the Palace and ensuring the safety of His Serene Highness the Sovereign Prince and the Princely Family. During your visit to Monaco, don’t miss the ceremonial changing of the guard in front of the Prince’s Palace! Every day at 11.55am, when the clock strikes, the Carabinieri, dressed in black in winter and white in summer, put on a show! As in any monarchy, the changing of the guard is a solemn, military ritual, where coordination is a must. This daily ballet, which lasts seven minutes, attracts large numbers of spectators from all over the world, so make sure you come early to get a front row seat!

THE SUMMER CONCERTS AT THE PRINCELY PALACE OF MONACO

A not-to-be-missed event for music lovers!

Since 1959, the Princely Palace of Monaco has opened its doors in July and August for a series of classical music concerts performed by the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra. The greatest works by Strauss, Mozart and Beethoven are performed for the occasion. The concerts take place in the Cour d’Honneur of the Prince’s Palace and have become a not-to-be-missed event for music lovers from all over the world.
