Instagram Spot 1: #ILoveNice of course!

A play of light and shadow. It’s become an emblem and a must for any souvenir of Nice!

Set up almost 4 years ago at Rauba-Capeù, the giant hashtag #ILoveNice has become a symbol and a must for taking photos in Nice. For your Instagram photo, the choice is yours! There’s #ILoveNice early in the morning, where the 3 colours, blue, white and red are bright and create a perfect picture with the sea and mountains in the background. And then there’s the #ILoveNice at the end of the day. “I love photographing it at this time of day because there’s a perfect play of light and shadow to compose your photo and keep a unique souvenir of the city of Nice and the Côte d’Azur!

Instagram Spot 2: Head for the Colline du Château!

Nice is all about the sea and its azure blue skies, but it’s also all about the mountains, less than an hour away!

In the series of not-to-be-missed Instagram spots in Nice, you’ll have a crush on the famous Colline du Château and its unique contrast: sea, Nice and mountains. For the best photos, you can get to the Colline du Château either from the seafront by taking the stairs at Quai des Etats-Unis, or for the less sporty, the lift in Rue des Ponchettes. Access is also possible from Vieux-Nice. When the first snow appears at the end of November, and the weather is still fine in Nice, the setting is magnificent! Another option is to head to Mont Boron. You’ll have the trifecta: azure sea, Nice and snow-capped mountains. That’s the Côte d’Azur!

Instagram Spot 3: Old Nice and its colourful
facades!

Vieux-Nice: it’s a touristy, historic and tasty walk.

I love the morning light in Vieux-Nice and the warm colours of the facades at the end of the day. For photographers, there’s a play of light and shadow at any time of day. It’s easy to stroll through the narrow streets, passing from shop to shop to discover all the charm and specialities of Nice. As you stroll along, you’ll come across the colours of Nice: yellow, red, orange… I recommend a visit to the new Place Saint-François and the Palais Lascaris. Not forgetting the Cours Saleya with its unmissable flower market and the Place Masséna.

Instagram Spot 4: From the Tour Saint-François.

A unique spot to admire Nice from 360 degrees! Photography fans, don’t forget your camera or smartphone!

Located in Vieux-Nice, the Tour Saint-François was built in the 13th century. It reaches a height of 42 metres. After the Revolution, it dominated Nice and became the town’s clock tower. Recently opened to the public in 2019, you can visit it from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 5pm (admission fee payable). Once you’ve climbed the Tower’s 288 steps (you don’t need to be afraid of heights!), you’ll be treated to a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of Nice and the surrounding countryside.

Instagram Spot 5: The Promenade des Anglais!

We often see the Promenade des Anglais in bright sunshine… but not much in the rain!

When it’s raining, or just after the rain, the Promenadeis adorned with multiple reflections, it becomes even more beautiful. It’s one of my specialities. I love puddles and reflections. It’s a place that sometimes puts on a spectacular show, especially just after a storm when a rainbow appears over the sea. If you’re a fan, a few puddles remain on a clear day in front of Bernar Venet’s sculpture “Neuf lignes obliques”, or near SAB’s “La chaise bleue”… you’ll see Nice in a different way!
