In Mandelieu-La Napoule

Dates 2027 to come

More concentrated, more festive, always joyful and popular, the Mimosa Festival will take place in the town’s neighbourhoods, where the colourful, flower-filled corsos will parade past. In the heart of Mandelieu – on the Place de France – festival-goers will be able to meet up, without forgetting the historic mimosa district: Capitou and the seaside district of La Napoule.

On the programme: parades, light parades, flower corsos, children’s carnival, entertainment, strolls, exhibitions, lively squares, street and market flower displays, etc. Five days of intense festivities to share, enjoy and celebrate the mimosa, the symbol of winter sunshine on the Côte d’Azur.

The Tourist Office will be the meeting point for a host of suggested hikes, discoveries of the Tanneron – Europe’s largest mimosa forest – sales of mimosa-related products, ticket purchases for the corsos… The mimosa specialities offered by Mandolod’s talented culinary creators will be in season. The programme will be rounded off with heritage tours of the Château de La Napoule and botanical tours of Mandelieu’s parks and gardens. At the same time, Mandelieu-La Napoule is stepping up its mimosa flower display on the town’s main thoroughfares.

THE MIMOSA, THE WINTER FLOWER OF THE CÔTE D’AZUR!

Before you come and celebrate this emblematic Côte d’Azur flower at the Fête du Mimosa, we’ll tell you all about its origins…

Did you know? The English, botanical enthusiasts, were particularly present on the Côte d’Azur in the 19th century.

Seduced by their holidays on the Côte d’Azur, they brought the mimosa with them. The mimosa itself, imported from Australia around 1850, decorated the gardens of their sumptuous residences.

This winter plant is still worked by five mimosa growers in Mandelieu, who harvest two million stems each year.

Part of this production – twelve tonnes in all – is traditionally used for the Fête du Mimosa, starting with the flower corsos.

Mandelieu-La Napoule‘s reputation as the Mimosa Capital grows year on year.

GETAWAY ON THE MIMOSA ROUTE!

130 km of fragrant escapade between Bormes-les-Mimosas and Grasse, culminating in Mandelieu-La Napoule, the Mimosa Capital!

Meandering between the Mediterranean coastline, the Estérel massif and the Tanneron forest, the Mimosa Route lets you discover the riches of the Côte d’Azur, from January to March, when the flowers are in bloom.

Mandelieu-La Napoule, the“Mimosa Capital“, is one of the eight stops on the route. The town has been celebrating the mimosa since 1931, and every February offers a unique festive and gourmet programme: the Mimosa Festival, flower corsos, visits to forceries to find out about the mimosa-making trade from the inside, and walks through the only mimosa arboretum in France, with over 100 species spread over almost 10,000 m².

It’s an experience to be savoured with all your senses.
