The Fédération Française de Génétique Humaine (FFGH) has chosen the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes to host the 13th Assises de Génétique Humaine et Médicale from 27 January to 30 January 2026.

This major event, organised by the Fédération Française de Génétique Humaine (FFGH) in partnership with MCO Congrès, will bring together more than 2,000 genetics professionals, including doctors, researchers and specialists from all over the world.

This congress confirms Cannes' attractiveness as a venue for major medical and scientific events. Having successfully hosted congresses such as the Cours Saint Paul, the Assises Face et Cou, and Health From Space, the town continues to position itself as a leading destination for this type of event. Other health-related conferences are due to be announced in the near future.

The 13th Assises de Génétique Humaine et Médicale are fully in line with the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès' mission of connecting minds and revealing talent by providing an environment conducive to discussion and scientific innovation.

‘Hosting the 13th Assises de Génétique Humaine et Médicale at the Palais des Festivals testifies to the ambitious drive we've given to position Cannes as a key destination for major scientific and medical events. The choice of our town by the French Federation of Human Genetics is recognition of the quality of our infrastructure and our ability to host top-level conferences in an exceptional setting. Through these events, we are reinforcing Cannes' appeal as a meeting place for the brightest minds, contributing to the advancement of science and innovation for the common good. Our ambition is to make Cannes an international platform for exchange and progress, where science, culture and innovation come together to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes and President of the Association of Mayors of France

‘We are delighted to announce that the Assises de Génétique Humaine et Médicale 2026, organised by the Fédération Française de Génétique Humaine and Pr Véronique Paquis-Flucklinger and her team, will be held in Cannes from 27 to 30 January 2026. This event is the largest gathering of French-speaking geneticists, bringing together more than 2,000 genetics professionals, doctors and researchers from all over the world to discuss recent advances and major issues in the field of human and medical genetics. We're delighted to be able to welcome you to the Assises, a key opportunity to share and discuss the most innovative discoveries in genomics, precision medicine and medical genetics. In 2026, Cannes will become the focal point for experts in the sector, encouraging interdisciplinary exchanges and the creation of international collaborations on key issues in public health and personalised medicine’.
Professor Damien Sanlaville, CHU de Lyon, President of the French Federation of Human Genetics

‘The entire Genetics team at Nice University Hospital will be delighted to roll out the red carpet for you at the Human and Medical Genetics Conference to be held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes in 2026.
This not-to-be-missed event for the scientific and medical community is designed to provide an opportunity to discuss issues that often go beyond the scope of genetics, such as the use of data, bioethics, personalised medicine and access to new treatments, etc. Nice and Cannes are part of the Université Côte d'Azur, which includes top-level research teams in biology as well as artificial intelligence, bioinformatics and modelling. Together with the FFGH, we will be doing our utmost to ensure that the scientific programme of this conference is equal to the challenges facing our speciality.
We encourage all those involved in the field (clinicians, biologists, researchers, students, patient associations, industrialists, etc.) to join us in making these Assises a great opportunity to share ideas in an exceptional setting, conducive to exchange and collaboration.
We look forward to seeing you on the Côte d'Azur!
Professor Véronique Paquis-Flucklinger, Nice University Hospital
